Picture in Time: Midland Metro 09, 15 and 06

We are back on Midland Metro for the latest edition of Picture in Time for a view taken during the initial testing period and we see three trams all in one photo – 09, 15 and 06.

The date is 23rd February 1999 when our photographer took a trip to the West Midlands to see if he could get some views of the testing of the latest new generation tramway to open in the UK and when he was at Priestfield he was treated to this scene of three trams in action. In the stop we have 09 on the right which is in the northbound platform whilst the unnumbered T69 opposite is 15. Meanwhile in the background we can see 06 which is waiting for some movement so that he too can draw forward into the platform.

  1. Scott says:

Which of all the T69 trams was the most reliable? the only one I’ve never heard have a fault with it is Number 16. I hope they’re reused and aren’t sent to the scrapyard just yet.
