We are back in Croydon for today’s Picture in Time image as we find CR4000 2552 operating a test run before the system opened to the public.
This photo shows Bombardier Flexity CR4000 2552 on a test run rolling along Tamworth Road on 8th October 1999. To the left of the photo the shopping centre called
Centrale was built and a stop was later constructed just about where the
photographer was standing. On this day however this was all for the
future and the tram will pass by the very new flower beds on its way to
West Croydon.
