In Pictures: Stagecoach Supertram rail replacement works move on to city centre bridge

The next phase of rail replacement works on Stagecoach Supertram commenced on Monday 11th May as expected with the first area affected being the track across the Park Square bowstring bridge. These views, courtesy of Stuart Cooke, show the start of the work which includes special ducting being placed alongside the rails to aid drainage.

During the work the Green route has returned with trams between Halfway and Meadowhall with trams on the Yellow and Blue routes from Middlewood and Malin Bridge respectively terminating at Castle Square. During the works trams are having to be stored in the open in the city centre with a spare available throughout the day at Castle Square in the down platform.
