Tramlink suffers delays twice in as many days

There were delays on London Tramlink for two consecutive delays for two non-related reasons. Firstly flash flooding caused delays on Wednesday 30th May and then an accident involving a cyclist and a car caused further problems the following day.

Tramlink services were suspended on the Central Croydon loop for a time on Wednesday 30th May because of a sudden burst of rain which meant that there was severe surface flooding. Reeves Corner and Tamworth Road were said to be the worst affected areas.

Then on Thursday 31st May there was a collision between a cyclist and a car on the approach to East Croydon, with no trams involved. The incident occurred at approximately 1145 and the cyclist suffered non life threatening injuries and was taken to Croydon University Hospital for treatment. After the incident was cleared there were
further delays as the service was reformed.
