East Anglia Transport Museum to increase opening in 2015

The East Anglia Transport Museum in Carlton Colville is to open for more days in 2015 with, for the first time, the Museum open until the end of October. The first chance to visit the Museum – the only place in the UK you can enjoy rides on not only trams but also trolleybuses and on a railway in one place – will be on Wednesday 1st April with all opening days now seeing the site open to the public between 1200 and 1630.

In April and May the EATM will be open to the public every Thursday and Sunday and will also be open on Bank Holiday Mondays and during local school holidays. At the start of June Saturday opening will start lasting all the way until the end of September. The School summer holidays will also see extra opening on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Previously at the end of September the Museum closed but for the first time in 2015 Sundays in October will also see the trams, trolleybuses and railway in operation.

There will be five special events during the year starting off on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April with a Start of Season Easter Gala. This will include evening running until 1900 on the Saturday along with an Easter Egg hunt for the kids on both days.

Further events will take place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May (Mid May 40’s weekend – again including evening running until 2100 on the Saturday), Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July (50th Anniversary of the Museum site), Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September (End of Season Gala with operation until 2100 on the Saturday and the use of all operational vehicles) and then finally on Saturday 31st October (Halloween, again there will be late running until 1900).
