Special ticket offers in lead up to Christmas

Both Blackpool Transport and Manchester Metrolink have recently announced special ticket deals in the lead up to Christmas to help people get into the town and city centres for discounted rates. In Blackpool a special 2 for 1 single ticket offer is available on selected dates between the end of November and Christmas whilst on Manchester Metrolink children can travel free with a special voucher downloadable from the website.

The offer revealed by Blackpool Transport allows two people (one of whom must be a full paying adult – no concessionary passes valid) to travel together for the cost of one single ticket. This offer is only available after 1800 on Thursdays 27th November, 4th, 11th and 18th December and all day on Saturdays and Sundays 29th/30th November, 6th/7th, 13th/14th and 20th/21st December.

Meanwhile on Manchester Metrolink it is Children only who will be able to travel free with a full paying adult on the weekends of 6th/7th and 13th/14th December. A special voucher is needed to take up this offer which can be downloaded from http://www.metrolink.co.uk/christmas.

Some Metrolink elves (you won’t be able to miss them they will be dressed in Metrolink colours) will also be in Manchester City Centre every weekend up until Christmas guiding visitors and handing out special offers. They will be placed at strategic locations along the route of the Second City Crossing (2CC) between 1130 and 1700 every Saturday and Sunday. You will also be able to pose for an “elfie selfie” with them and anyone who posts one on Twitter using the hashtag #MCRElfieSelfie will be entered into a free prize draw.

And if you are travelling in Nottingham you can take advantage of the Group Ticket which allows unlimited travel for two adults and up to three children for just £6. This is available after 1700 on weekdays and all day at the weekend.

The Metrolink deal is a bit of a ruse! If there are two adults in the party with less than three kids, it’ll still work out FAR cheaper to buy a Family Day Saver!
