In Pictures: One new advert as two removed in Manchester

Following on from yesterday’s West Midlands Metro update, Manchester Metrolink has also already seen some advert changes in early 2026 with two adverts having been removed whilst one of the trams which has seen an ad go has now received a new design – the first new advert for the year on Metrolink. The trams involved in these latest changes are 3092 and 3102.

3102 is the tram which has seen one advert go and another take its place. It had been advertising JD Sports (as from November 2025) but those vinyls have now gone to be replaced by a set for ITV using the phrase “There’s No Place Like itv” along with lots of do’s to represent the Coronation Street theme tune! The advert is mainly yellow although it’s a slightly different shade of the standard Metrolink fleet livery so there’s a bit of a clash there!

This marks the seventh advert that 3102 has carried. Previous advertisers have been Welcome Back Manchester, Hard Rock Café, Starling Bank, Bohomoon, Medik8 and JD Sports.

Meanwhile, 3092 has also lost its latest advertising contract although there has been no replacement for that one. It was another November 2025 application for 3092 when it received an advert for Euro 2028 but whereas you may have thought this would be in place for another couple of years, its far from it as its already gone!

3092 has now been through four advertisers: Starling Bank, Primark, Cuervo Tradicional Tequilla and Euro 2028.
