In Pictures: West Midlands Metro 56 gets a partial advertising livery

It didn’t take many days of 2026 before we got to report on a new advert being carried by a tram and it’s the West Midlands Metro who are fast out of the starting blocks! The tram seen adorned with new adverts is 56, although its not a full wrap with just the centre three sections carrying the vinyls.

56 is now advertising the West Midlands Business Festival which takes place between 2nd and 13th February 2026. This event apparently offers unlimited opportunities and is apparently an ideal opportunity to connect and network with other business people across the West Midlands.

The advert features orange vinyls on the middle three sections of the tram (the Urbos3 and Urbos100 trams on the West Midlands Metro each have five sections) with the end sections being kept free of any advertising.

56 – which is named Amman Ahmed after a volunteer who was recognised as part of the 50for50WM campaign in late 2024 – has not previously carried an advert so its starting the new year with something new!

56 is spotted here in the snow carrying its new adverts as it calls at Priestfield with its destination set for Edgbaston Village. (Photograph by Shiv Patel, 6th January 2026)
