In Pictures: Two returning advertisers in Edinburgh

Say what you like about adverts in Edinburgh (and we know there are lots of you who are not keen on them!) but companies obviously think it works as a medium to get their products out there to the public, considering how many returning advertisers there are. The latest to come back after a brief gap is The Famous Grouse who now have a full wrap on 276 and Walkers Shortbread on 275.

Although The Famous Grouse previously had a two year advert on 254 (August 2023-August 2025), that was one of the partial types of adverts whereas this new design on 276 is a full wrap in a nice bright red. They are still proud sponsors of Scottish Rugby and it also features window vinyls on sections three and five of the tram.

276 had been advertising The Edinburgh Dungeon (July 2024-November 2025) which was an almost full wrap (the ends were free of vinyls) and has also previously advertised Edinburgh Trams Christmas and Hogmanay, Royal Highland Show, Edinburgh Dungeon (first ad July-December 2018), Edinburgh Trams Christmas 2018 and Hogmanay, Parabola, OVO Energy and Taylor Swift.

275 has been really going through the advertisers recently with this partial advert for Walkers Shortbread being its sixth different advert applied in 2025 alone. Its last advert was a full wrap for Edinburgh Napier University which was only applied in October 2025 but like many of those its seen this year that was just a short-term ad.

Walkers Shortbread also had an advert around the same time last year (actually added to 255 in December 2025, so a bit earlier this year). But this time they’ve answered the question what does a retired tennis player do? It appears in Andy Murray’s case they eat Christmas themed shortbread! And how can blame him!

275 shows its Walkers Shortbread advert with Andy Murray dominating this full height section as it holds a Christmas Tree shaped piece of shortbread!

The other full height section tells us that its “A wee bit of Scotland that’s come a long way”.
