14 of the new Stadler built trains have now entered service on the Tyne and Wear Metro. The latest unit to enter service is 555 011 which was used on 13th August 2025, although its not know if this was its actual entry into service date.
555 011 had been delivered to the Metro on 11th April 2025 making it around about four months between arrival and entry into service, making it the quickest to hit that milestone (just – as 555 008 was just over four months).
With this train now confirmed as having entered service it joins the 13 others which have carried passengers – 555 002–555 009, 555 015, 555 020, 555 021, 555 027 and 555 028.
