The Blackpool Conduit Tramway tells the story of the first Promenade tramway, designed by Michael Holroyd Smith and built in 1885 by the Blackpool Electric Tramway Company, before Blackpool Corporation took it over in 1892. The book features the development, operation and extension of the underground conduit system until it was converted to overhead power in 1899. It ends with the subsequent history of the trams which had run under the conduit system, and looks at other conduit tramways in America and Europe. All in all it is a must have to anyone with an interest in the Blackpool Tramway.
The book is 152 A4 pages and features over 200 illustrations.
