“Around the World in Trams” move on again for July and it’s a city which is well-known for trams – Prague in Czechia.
We have featured photos from Prague many times over the years on British Trams Online and the images featured over the next four weeks were all taken during October 2023. It’s a tramway which doesn’t really need any introduction being the largest in Czechia and featuring almost 90 miles of standard gauge track. 26 routes operate and the fleet consists of over 880 vehicles, many of which are products of Tatra although in more recent times manufacturers such as Skoda have started to enter the Prague tram market.
During this trip there was a chartered tram trip which started off with 351 and 1350 but later changed over to Tatra product 7000. And it’s the change of tram that we feature in the below photo with this image of 7000 under sunny October skies. This tram was built in 1977 as 394 in the Bratislava fleet and transferred to Prague in 2021 where it is part of the historic fleet of trams.
