In Pictures: 3100 advertises The Hundred

Most of the time when a tram is chosen to receive an advertising livery it appears pretty random, and then there are times like we’ve just seen on Manchester Metrolink. With franchise cricket tournament The Hundred taking out a contract for an advert the tram which has been chosen to receive it is the very appropriate 3100!

The tram is in the brand colours of The Hundred of pink and green, and encourages the public to buy their tickets now. Although not directly promoting local Hundred franchise Manchester Originals it does feature an action shot of a batter in the Originals kit. As usual the ends of the tram remains in fleet livery.

For 3100 this is a return to advertising for the first time in five and a half years. That was when it carried its only previous wrap when it was one of the batch of trams which advertised Vodafone (partly as part of the contract for the on-board wi-fi that Vodafone had helped to setup). These were in place June 2018 to December 2019.

3100 on its first day in service is spotted at Deansgate-Castlefield with a service heading to Manchester Airport. This photo shows the pink end of the advert.

It’s the wrong sport! 3100 passing the National Football Museum by Victoria Station as it heads to Shaw & Crompton. This ends shows us more of the advert including the “EVERY BALL COUNTS” branding. (Photograph by Reece Hughes, 1st July 2025)
