Manchester Metrolink service alteration: Sunday 10th November

As the nation pauses to remember on Remembrance Sunday – 10th November – Manchester Metrolink services will be unable to travel through St Peter’s Square between 1000 and 1200 with replacement buses in operation instead. Buses will operate between Exchange Quay and Piccadilly and from Trafford Bar to Piccadilly. As there are no planned Improvement works on this day normal services will run either side of the closure at St Peter’s Square.

This is stupid. Why can Alty and Eccles trams (and East Dids’ which the tfgm website FAILS to mention) run to Cornbrook. That way people travelling from the Eccles line to the Alty line for example don’t have to catch a bus!

Will I Be able to catch a tram from Eccles to St Peter’s Square before 10am?
    Cheers

The information has now been updated on the Metrolink website and includes details of the East Didsbury service. Trams from Eccles, East Didsbury and Altrincham will run as far as Cornbrook but the replacement bus will not serve Cornbrook so passenger are advised to use Trafford Bar instead. Rochdale trams are being diverted to Piccadilly.

No trams will run through St Peter’s Square between 1000 and 215 so before and after that time should be fine (but check with Metrolink to be sure).
