Anyone travelling on the Tyne and Wear Metro will now be able to get personalized travel alerts thanks to an upgrade of the Pop app. This will allow passengers to be kept up-to-date about the current service on the network straight to their smartphone.
The update is available on the latest version of the Pop app which can be downloaded on both iOS and Android through Google Play and the Apple store.
All users have to do is to opt in and they can then receive updates in three main categories: Metro service levels and lift and escalator availability. You can select whether you want updates on the green or yellow line, as well as updates for specific stations.
