As we are now in September it is time for another theme in “Around the World in Trams” and this time we move on to Innsbruck for a selection of images taken there in 2010.
Running on a metre gauge, the first trams started running in the Austrian city of Innsbruck in 1905. It is now made up of 16.5 miles of line. The city is also home to the Stubaitalbhan which is a 11 mile narrow gauge interurban tram which runs to Fulpmes and opened in 1904; this line shares the standard tram tracks in Innsbruck.
In this photo is 312 pictured. Built in 2009 this vehicle is a Bombardier Flexity Outlook which remains in service today. Its at Igls which is the terminus of line 6 which runs from Innsbruck and through small villages south of the city.
