Picture in Time: Glasgow 22

This latest edition of “Picture in Time” is again heading to Crich as we take a look a photo from 1979 of one of the trams in service.

Sometimes when this series goes to Crich we feature a tram which hasn’t run much in recent years. This edition is not one of those! Pictured here is Glasgow 22 which first ran at Crich in 1964 and since then has more often than not been part of the operational fleet, aside from periods when it has been undergoing attention. Indeed it has run in more than 50 seasons at Crich – which considering it was built in 1922 and withdrawn in 1960 on its home system means it is more at home in the Derbyshire countryside than Glasgow!
