The Blackpool Tramway’s Flexity2 017 has recently received some new adverts with the Affinity Outlet Lancashire taking out a contract to advertise the tram. This is not a full advertising livery with the tram just carrying vinyls at roof level as well on the lower section of the centre car.
As Fleetwood Freeport, the Affinity Outlet (just a short walk from Fisherman’s Walk tramstop) is no stranger to advertising on the trams with the very first vinyl wrap advert on the modern tram fleet being for this shopping complex. This was on 016 which carried adverts for Freeport from April 2014 to August 2018 (two different designs including the giant seagulls!) before it became a Pretty Little Thing.
This new contract is a far more sedate affair with many of the shops which can found at Affinity featured on the roof level adverts. A pleasing combination of red and blue is used on the adverts.
Given the increasingly alarming position of Blackpool Transport Services Ltd troubling for whatever reason unable/unwilling to secure higher tariff advertising revenue on tramway. Seems yet another one of the Tramways golden gooses has stoped laying eggs. People use to be lining up wanting to be assossiated with tramway..
Interesting times for sure they now have a controvervial Cllr on the board in his twenties.. The previous Chair leaving board completely along with others. I wonder why no experienced Cllrs seemingly wanted to touch it with a barge pole! The three who placed on board seemingly only joined Council in May..
Its probably because they are charging too much – I was told its akin to London prices!
