Classic Motorcycle Day returns to Crich this July

It may seem a while off but publicity has started for the Classic Motorcycle Day at the Crich Tramway Village which this year will be taking place on Sunday 2nd July 2023. This will be the sixth such event for the partnership with the Vincent HRD Owners Club and features sponsorship from Derwent Waste Management.

The event usually attracts around 300 motorcycles including vintage machines and relatively modern vehicles from the 1990s – as long as they are at least 25 years old then anything goes! Entry to the event is free for riders of classic motorcycles and scooters who pre-book but there is a limit of 350 vehicles and this must be done in advance. This can be done online by visiting https://www.tramway.co.uk/whatson/classic-motorcycle-day.

Jon Lambley, the Vincent HRD Owners Club organiser, said: “Many of the classic motorcycle owners consider this event to be one of the most important in the year, and we hope that everyone will enjoy this year’s display and vote for their favourite machine. It is important to book your motorcycle in for display in advance as places are limited, due to the popularity of the event and many riders returning year after year. We already have over 250 motorcycles booked in”.

The event will also feature live music from The Moonshiners at the bandstand and there will be several trophies on offer for the best motorcycles judged by expert judges. There is also a Best in Show prize which will be voted for by the visiting public.
