Nexus open applications for the next batch of apprenticeships

Nexus have now opened applications for their 2023 batch of apprentices with nine roles up for grabs as the organisation look to maintain their strong track record of apprentice recruitment.

Roles available this year include project management, human resources, data science, bus services and infrastructure maintenance on the Tyne and Wear Metro, including overhead line and structures.

Heather Blevins, who is Head of Learning at Nexus, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming a diverse mix of talented people who are keen to start careers in the transport industry in 2023. Apprenticeships are vital for the long-term future of Nexus. We are committed to developing early career paths, providing solid succession planning for critical roles. Apprenticeships are an ideal route both for us and the apprentice. They learn bespoke skills and competencies with a good chance of getting a permanent job at the end, and we gain skilled and engaged employees who see real career development. Apprentices get first class training, opening the door to a brilliant career in the railway and public transport industry. It is vital that we invest in training and development to ensure that we continue to deliver the essential services to our customers both now and in the future.”

Applications are open until Sunday 26th February with more details at https://www.nexus.org.uk/apprenticeships
