And extra trams in Edinburgh for rugby internationals too!

Once again showing its flexibility in operating extra services for big events in the city, Edinburgh Trams will be operating extra services in connection with the forthcoming Autumn Rugby Internationals at BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Trams are due to run up to every three minutes before and after the matches at Murrayfield to get the crowds to the matches. There will be four Autumn Internationals taking place this year:

  • 29th October – Scotland v Australia at 1730
  • 5th November – Scotland v Fiji at 1300
  • 13th November – Scotland v New Zealand at 1415
  • 19th November – Scotland v Argentina at 1515

Speaking about the forthcoming rugby, Lea Harrison, Managing Director of Edinburgh Trams, said: “Over the next few weeks, people will be thrilled to see one of the most exciting and dramatic annual competitions in world rugby, and we want to make it as easy as possible to access the stadium that’s right next to the tram stop. Surely, roads around the city will be extremely busy, but those driving from beyond Edinburgh can avoid the hassle of finding a parking spot in the city centre by leaving their cars at Ingliston Park & Ride before completing their journey by tram. We look forward to welcoming fans onboard and we hope they experience the best that Edinburgh and its rugby season have to offer”

Rugby Return Tickets will be available on the day to make travel even easier – these tickets can be exclusively purchased online at https://www.edinburghticket.co.uk/.
