The latest M5000 to enter service on Manchester Metrolink is 3143 which was first noted in use on Wednesday 20th July. Unsurprisingly, this is the 143rd M5000 to run in service in Manchester and now means that 175 different trams have run on the network in passenger service since 1992!
3143 was delivered to Manchester on 25th June 2022 (minus spots!) and after commissioning (which includes those spots being attached to the plain livery!) followed by mileage accumulation it was passed over to the operational fleet for an entry into service, which duly came by 20th July.
On its believed first day in service it was allocated to the Piccadilly to Bury service.
Only one M5000 already in Manchester awaits its entry into service now. This is 3144 which only arrived on Saturday 16th July.
