In Pictures: Two more new adverts in Edinburgh!

You wait ages for a new advert and then several come at once! After the end of last week saw Edinburgh Trams 264 receive adverts for Tennent’s Light we have now seen sister trams 251 and 275 receive new designs, for St James Quarter and Play at Edinburgh Park respectively.

Both of the trams had been in fleet livery (since March 2020 – 251 – and November 2021 – 275) so this is a return to adverts for the pair. Starting with 251 the advert for St James Quarter, which is located close to the new Picardy Place stop, features multiple colours with the design relatively simple – the full height adverts feature images of flowers with the words St James Quarter.

275’s advert is another for the Edinburgh Park development bit this time concentrates on the leisure facilities available – including fitness classes. The main colours of the advert are green and white with the full height sections telling us all to Play at Edinburgh Park.

This is the fifth advert for 251 and fourth for 275.

The colourful advert on 251 is seen to good effect here as it comes round from the Airport to Ingliston Park and Ride.

Another view of 251 showing the full height advert and other parts of the design.

The full advert on the tram is seen as it runs down from Ingliston P+R to the airport stop with airport hotels and the 57m high air traffic control tower (built 2005) behind.

And another of the full height section of the advert for Play at Edinburgh Park. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 22nd June 2022)
