Metro performance on the up

The latest performance statistics poster for the Tyne and Wear Metro has recently been put up at stations across the network and it shows that performance has increased on both the previous four weeks and the same time last year.

This time the period covers 25th July to 21st August and during these four weeks 87% of all trains were reported as being on time (for the Tyne and Wear Metro that means within three minutes later or 30 seconds earlier than timetabled).

In comparison the previous period saw 83% of trains on time with the same time in 2020 being 84%.

As we’ve become used to that is all the poster actually tells us it is mainly used to reassure anyone travelling on the Metro how safe the network is currently.
