In Pictures: Crossover installed on Leith Walk

Work on the Trams to Newhaven project in Edinburgh continues with most weeks seeing at least one major piece of infrastructure appearing. In this latest pictorial look at what’s going on we head to Leith Walk once more where a crossover has been installed to allow trams to change tracks at times of disruption.

This particular crossover is located close to the junction of Leith Walk and Dalmeny Street and is just south of the location of the Balfour Street stop – the third stop on the line from the city centre.

Looking away from the city centre towards Leith we see the crossover in place in this view. The Newhaven bound track is mostly in position on the left whilst that heading into the city centre is installed up to the crossover but still needs laying further north. (Photograph by John Hampton)
