With there now being two main worksites for the Blackpool Tramway extension up Talbot Road (down at Talbot Square with overhead being installed and up at Wilko’s where track is being put down) it has become a hive of activity in recent weeks. While a lot of our recent updates have concentrated on the wiring in this article we take a look back up at Wilko’s.
Last time we featured Wilko’s we saw that track had been put down up to the curve which leads to the terminus. Further progress has now been made with concrete foundations now in place for what is presumed to be the eventual tram terminus.
With the framework of the new hotel dominating the scene in the centre of this shot we see that the concrete foundations are now down for the terminus. (Photograph by Peter Dockerty, 15th July 2021)
