Its been a long time since we last saw a new advert on a tram in Manchester but much like a London bus you wait so long for one that two come at once! The first new adverts since last November have recently been noted with 3070 and 3102 both receiving their very first vinyl wraps.
3070 has received an advert for Soccer Aid – which takes place at Old Trafford in September – with 3102 carrying a design for Welcome Back to Manchester.
The advert on 3102 is certainly a colourful affair and even manages to avoid any contravison on the windows. Welcome Back Manchester is a campaign to encourage people to get back out and about – when its safe to do so – by giving updates of when businesses are reopening with this advert on 3102 just a small part of this.
Meanwhile 3070’s advert for Soccer Aid does feature contravision and is a lot less colouful with its base colour being black along with various images including of Wayne Rooney and some celebrities expected to take part in the charity football match in aid of Unicef which will be taking place in September and will also be broadcast on ITV and STV.
As mentioned earlier these are the first new full adverts since 3117 receives an ad for Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020 (which has since been removed). It now means there are three trams with adverts as they join 3066 with its Clean Air Manchester design.
