Sandilands tram derailment inquest gets underway

The inquest into the deaths of seven people who died after a tram on the London Tramlink system a Sandilands derailed on 9th November 2016 has finally started after delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Coroner Sarah Ormond-Walshe swore in the jury on Monday 17th May with the first evidence due to be heard from Tuesday 18th May. It is expected that the inquest will last for three months with the families of those who tragically lost their lives hoping for answers as to why they died during the derailment.
