Around the World in Trams: Innsbruck 11 & 16

We are again in Innsbruck but this time we move on to the Stubaitalbahn for the next few editions of “Around the World in Trams”.

The Stubitalbahn was in July 1964 an 18.2km line between Berg Isel and Fulpmes. It opened in 1904 and operated at 2500 volts ac which made it incompatible with the Innsbruck town system. The line ran with its original rolling stock all the way from 1904 until 1983 at which time it was converted to dc. Ex-Hagen articulated cars were then used and the line extended over IVB tracks to the central station.

But back in July 1964 we see trailers 11 and 16 plus a goods wagon near to Fulpmes at the top end of the line. The chassis of the trailers dates from 1904 but new bodywork had been built in the late 1950s.
