Picture in Time: Docklands Light Railway 45+81

This week’s modern light rail image from the archives heads back to 16th March 2005 again for another look at the Docklands Light Railway.

The unit closest to the camera in this photograph taken at Greenwich is the first of the B92 units, no. 45, which is carrying an all over advert for the London Knights ice hockey team who at that time played at the London Arena which was adjacent to the station at Crossharbour. This was a simple but effective advert with black background and white writing. Although this photo was taken in 2005 by this time the ice hockey team was no longer playing and it was to be the last year of the London Arena which has now been demolished and replaced by a housing development. In this photo 45 is joined by 81 another of BN Construction built Class B92 units.
