More roadworks for Oldham Metrolink works

The Manchester Street roundabout in Oldham Town Centre is to be closed between 2000 and 0600 Monday to Friday for up to 15 nights starting from Friday 1st February as works to bring Manchester Metrolink into the town continue. This will be followed by a section of Union Street (between Rhodes Bank and Bridge Street) being closed in mid February zhich will involve traffic diversions being put into place. Both of these closures are necessary to allow contractors to undertake works needed for the construction of the Metrolink diversion through Oldham Town Centre which is due to open (with four new stops) in 2014.

  1. Phil Hart says:

What I would like to know is when this bottle neck (Manchester Street Roundabout) is going to be fully open.

Roadworks here have been going on for months and doesn’t seem to get any nearer completion. It seem to be taking much longer than the Mumps area to complete.
