In Pictures: Supertram trackworks move on

The good progress being made on the major rail replacement project on Stagecoach Supertram is continuing with the latest worksite on the outbound track through Langsett Primrose View tramstop between the junctions with Ash Street and Cuthbert Bank Road. This remains area two of the 2019 project with trams currently unable to travel any further than Shalesmoor from the city meaning that both the Blue and Yellow routes are not serving stops from there to their respective termini at Malin Bridge and Middlewood. Stuart Cooke with the photography showing the start of the work on this section.

A road sweeper travels through the tramstop itself cleaning the area after new track has been laid.

A JCB digger is used to lift rails.

Not everything can be done with heavy machinery. Two workmen attend to one end of the rails. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 28th June 2019)
