In Pictures: More construction images from Rotherham

With a date now announced for the start of services to Rotherham Parkgate (Thursday 25th October in case you missed it!) the last of the construction work is now coming to an end to make sure that everything is ready for those first passengers. We recently saw the start of works for passenger access to the single platform stop at Parkgate and in this latest update we take a look at recent progress there along with the current state of affairs at Rotherham Central. Glyn Hill provides the pictures.

Work at Rotherham Central is now very nearly complete with just a glass screen along the side of the slope from heavy rail to light platform. Here we see the fully surfaced platform along with information screens in place. On the opposite platform some last minute surveying is ongoing.

Looking across the two platforms showing where the posts for the installation of the screens on the slope between the two heights are in place.

At Rotherham Parkgate now where construction work for passenger access is ongoing.

Another view at Parkgate which also shows that information screens have been installed here as well. (All Photographs by Glyn Hill, 2nd October 2018)
