Another trip to Manchester for this instalment of Picture in Time with T68 1023 the tram to featured.
As with most of the T68s we have featured 1023 before in this series so there is no need to go into an in depth history again but just for completeness the tram was built at Firema’s Casertane Works in Italy arriving in Manchester on 18th March 1992, entering service on 11th May 1992 before being withdrawn from service on 21st January 2014. It is one of three T68s to remain stored at Trafford Depot today.
This photo shows 1023 at the original St Peter’s Square stop arriving on 6th September 1993 with an Altrincham to Bury service as a dog watches on.
