Collisions in Manchester and Birmingham

The past week has seen a couple of collisions involving trams with Manchester Metrolink and Midland Metro the affected systems this time around.

On Midland Metro a car and tram collided at Swan Lane in West Bromwich with photos from the scene showing that the car seemed to suffer fairly major damage. The driver of the car managed to get out of his vehicle but required hospital treatment whilst a passenger on board the tram was also treated for injuries. The collision happened on the evening of Wednesday 26th July.

Then on Thursday 27th July M5000 3098 was involved in a collision with a lorry on Droylsden Road whilst working a service on the Ashton-under-Lyne line. The collision happened at around 1240. It is not known what happened in the collision but the lorry ended up crashing through a wall and into a car parked on a drive. One person was treated for their injuries.
