Delays after tram and lorry collide in Nottingham

Nottingham Express Transit services were suspended between Royal Centre and Nottingham Station for over three hours on Saturday 3rd June following a collision involving a lorry and a tram on Victoria Street. The tram involved was Citadis 229.

The 0851 Toton Lane to Hucknall service had just left Lace Market when the collision took place on Victoria Street at approximately 0925. The tram hit the side of a lorry which seemed to be crossing the tracks at the time of the collision. Nobody was injured in the incident according to reports.

Services were suspended until approximately 1300 with 229 being driven slowly back to depot allowing trams to once again run through the affected area. During the disruption trams ran from Phoenix Park and Hucknall to Royal Centre and from Toton Lane and Clifton South to Nottingham Station.
