Nottingham Express Transit Service Change: Saturday 27th to Monday 29th May

Track replacement work will see the Nottingham Express Transit network split into two over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend with trams running from Hucknall and Phoenix Park to Wilkinson Street and from The Forest to Toton Lane and Clifton South.

Track replacement will be taking place in the Hyson Green area of the city including a curved section of track at the junction of Wilkinson Street and Radford Road. In addition there will be maintenance work carried out on a section of track between Noel Street and Terrace Street.

A replacement bus service will run between Wilkinson Street and The Forest to link the two sections of tramway with the stops at Radford Road, Hyson Green, Noel Street, Beaconsfied Street and Shipstone Street all closed and with no bus service serving them.

A slightly altered tram service will run with trams every 10 minutes between 0700 and 2100 on Saturday 27th and between 0700 and 1900 on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th May. At all other times the frequency will be every 15 minutes.

Darren Smith, NET’s Deputy Operations Manager, said: “The works will see sections of track replaced on one of the busiest parts of the network that has been in use since we first started running trams over 13 years ago. We’re committed to keeping Nottingham’s first class tram network in top condition and the work will help ensure we continue to provide a smooth journey for our thousands of customers every week.”
