Edinburgh Trams are celebrating after they walked away with two prestigious awards at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. Having been nominated in five categories they were named winners in the High Growth and Excellence in Health and Safety categories.
Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams General Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be recognised in this way by Edinburgh’s premier business organisation. Our success at the Chamber Awards is testament to the dedication of staff and reflects their hard work when it comes to driving the growth and delivering a safe, reliable and efficient mode of transport for the city. This is reflected in the fact that we have increased tram frequency to every seven minutes throughout the day to meet growing demand and have plans to introduce even more services in the near future.”
The High Growth award was made due to the 10% increase in passenger numbers between 2015 and 2016 with the Health and Safety award given due because of a comprehensive policy that puts the welfare of customers and employees at the heart of its operations.
