399 205 delivered to Sheffield

The Tram-Trains may not have turned a wheel in anger as yet but on Monday 26th September the fifth of seven vehicles being built for use on Stagecoach Supertram was delivered to Nunnery Depot. The arrival of 399 205 means there are just two more to arrive in South Yorkshire and these are expected to be delivered by the end of the year. The vehicles are still mainly confined to depot and it is not believed that any have found their way onto the mainline during daylight hours as yet.

Out of interest does anyone know what the longest UK rolling stock commissioning process in tramcar history is. Some murmurings of April 2017 (which when you think first one arrived November 30th 2015) certainly puts it into perpective

Edinburgh must be up there. First tram arrived in Edinburgh April 2010, line opened May 2014; although the circumstances were different to the tram-trains.
