20 Photos of... Blackpool Tramway - September 2006

This collection goes back into the archives as we look back at September 2006 and a selection of images taken on the Blackpool Tramway. This is a companion set of photos to this set we featured in February 2024 and takes a look at the non-Balloon Cars which operated over a week period during September 2006.

As is not entirely unexpected some of the trams we take a look at here are now just a distant memory as they have since been scrapped and of those which do survive only a few still carry the same livery as seen here. Included are a solitary Boat Car, Brush Cars, Centenary Cars, Twin Cars, Ex-Towing Railcoaches, a Jubilee Car and a couple of Illuminated Feature Cars. Does your favourite make an appearance?

This is a nostalgic look back at how the tramway was in the final five years before full upgrade took place - and there isn't anything green and cream to see!

Photographs were taken between Sunday 3rd and Saturday 9th September 2006.
