Beamish Tramway - Fares Please! May 2023

The Coronation Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 6th to Monday 8th May) saw Beamish celebrate the 50th anniversary of the their tramway with a special public transport event: "Fares Please!". Whilst it had been hoped that Gateshead 10 would be ready in time for the event (the overhaul has been delayed until spring 2024) and Sheffield 264 failed a few weeks previous, there was still plenty on offer with the four operational trams joined by both resident buses as well as a lage number of visiting rubber tyred vehicles.

This collection, obviously, mainly concentrates on the trams, but we do also feature the buses in operation around the museum. The trams ran clockwise with the buses running in an anti-clockwise direction.
