Around the World in Trams - The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum 2024 Trolley Fair


Pittsburgh Railways 1138 is a pre-war design Presidential Conference Committee ("PCC") car design that was built as Pittsburgh Railways 1138 by the Saint Louis Car Company (order number 1610) between October 1937 and January 1938. This car rides on two Clark B2 trucks each with two Westinghouse 1432 traction motors; the controller is a Westinghouse XM48. This car was built to the Pennsylvania Trolley gauge. This car was retired during 1958 and sold to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum on 29th April 1961. The carbody was restored by an outside contractor, the electric restoration work was done by the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum volunteers. This car was released for public service on 5th June 5 2024.
