General Notes:
The idea for these trams came from General Manager J.C.Franklin after a visit to the continent. The original two trams adapted were rebuilt with flat ends and after they were discovered to be a success further rebuilds were done. After a few years in service it was decided to permanently couple the towing cars with their trailers (which had been built by Metro Cam in 1960) and when this was done from 1963, 678-680 lost their trailers and operated singly.
