Gallery 917: Around the World in Trams Special - New York Museum of Transportation


Another of the exhibits at the museum is that standard gauge steam locomotive which was built for the Solvay Process Company in 1920. In 1947 it was sold on for further use to the Allied Chemical and Dye Company, although would only remain there for eight years. 1955 saw it acquired by the Rail City organisationin Sandy Pond, New York with its final ownership change happening in 1976 when the loco ended up at the New Yorkshire Museum of Transportation.
