Gallery 885: Picture in Time Special - Isle of Man 1996

This latest trip to the Isle of Man takes us to 1996 with a short visit which was mainly to tie in with the visit of steam locomotive "Polar Bear" to the Groudle Glen Railway but that didn't stop our photographer from taking a look at the trams of the Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway! Included in this collection are images of replica locomotive "Maria" on the Snaefell Mountain Railway almost completed after its construction although at the time of these photos it still required some finishing touches. Amongst other rarities featured here is Lisbon 360 which we see at Derby Castle just a few weeks after it had arrived on the Isle of Man with a view to it being used on the Manx Electric Railway (something which would not transpire after it was discovered to be too wide).
