Around the World in Trams - The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum 2024 Trolley Fair

2227 is a double truck single ended "standard" Cincinnati Street Railway car built at the Cincinnati Car Company (order 2415) during 1919. This car rides on two Elliot 50D trucks, each of which mounts two Westinghouse 318 traction motors, it has a K40 controller. Note that Cincinnati utilized current return via a second trolley wire and as such, this car has two poles (one positive, one negative). This car was built to the Pennsylvania Trolley gauge. This car was converted to a sand car numbered S223 during 1948 and was retired during 1951. 2227 was first preserved by the Southern Ohio Division of the Electric Railroaders Association and was acquired by Trolleyville, USA in 1964 and was sold at auction during 2006. 2227 was acquired by the Lake Shore Electric Railway at the disposal auction of Trolleyville, USA. The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum acquired 2227 during 2009.
