Riverside Museum, Glasgow - June 2025 |
The largest collection of heritage trams in Scotland can be found at Riverside Museum in Glasgow where seven trams from the once extensive Glasgow Corporation Tramways system can be found on display. The museum also has many other transport exhibits including the Glasgow Subway, railways and trolleybuses.
Located on the banks of the River Clyde the museum opened in 2011 and is the successor to the former Glasgow Museum of Transport which was initially located in the old Coplawhill tram depot between 1964 and 1988 and then at Kelvin Hall until 2010. It is a modern museum where there is plenty of interpretation about what is on show and whilst photography can be challenging it is still possible to see many vehicles from Glasgow's past during a visit. |
