| Edinburgh Trams - Trams to Newhaven Driver Training April 2023 |
![]() This is 26th April and 258 was again out on driver training as seen in Constitution Street, Leith while citybound on. Some of this street is now tram only and it is now also part of the recently designated Leith Low Traffic Neighbourhood. Horse and electric trams previously served the street between 1871 and 1956. The cream coloured wall on the left in the middle distance is the rebuilt wall at South Leith Parish Church. The wall was taken down to allow an archaeological dig before tramway construction began and where skeletons were found under the street. The tram is approaching Foot of the Walk stop (which is at the south end of Constitution Street and not on Leith Walk). Photograph by Roy Calderwood |
