20 Photos of... Trams Away from Home

Over the past couple of decades (actually 16 years to be exact with what is featured here) we have been lucky enough to see a number of trams head away from their usual homes to have a loan period at another tramway (some loans being longer than others). And in this "20 Photos of..." we take a look at a random selection of those trams which have had operating loans on another tramway.

We take a look at 20 different trams (and could have had more!) which had operating loans, with Beamish featuring extensively as trams such as Cardiff 131, Blackpool 11, Leeds 6 and Birkenhead 20 are all seen (amongst others!). The other big player is Blackpool with 2010 in particular seeing several trams head for a holiday on the Fylde Coast, this includes Liverpool 762 whilst later on a tram headed home to Blackpool in the form of Blackpool 623>. Crich is also featured as well as entries for the East Anglia Transport Museum (London County Council 106) and who can forget the time that the Heaton Park Tramway welcomed Open Top Balloon 706 for an unforgettable event?
