The points to the double track section have had a lever included instead of being sprung. When its in such a public area you do wonder whether if this is a permanent fixture it is particularly sensible for this form of operation. (All Photographs by Geoff Pickles, 25th June 2022)
In Pictures: Tarmac down in Douglas – will we see trams running soon?
Looking at the lever it appears to be secured to a small metal plate on a short post and the points are set leading back towards Derby Castle so I wonder whether they are actually sprung to allow trams to turn back without manual intervention and the lever is simply there to allow for out of course operation.
